Dear lacrosse friends,
since the time of Women´s World Cup 2005 in Annapolis, many lacrosse events around the world have been organized. Four years later, the biggest event in women´s lacrosse - the eighth World Cup - is coming to the Czech Republic - the heart of Europe and its hundred-spired capital - Prague.

On behalf of the World Cup 2009 Organizing Committee, we would like to invite to be a part of this special sport event and offer an opportunity for your active cooperation and successful business during this lacrosse festival. Moreover, we believe we can give you a chance to contact new business partners.

We are proud to announce that Mr. Pavel Bém, The Mayor of Prague, and Mr. Vladimír Srb, president of the Czech Sport Association provided the official patronage for the Championship. We offer you a unique opportunity to introduce yourselves not only to the World Cup players but also to Prague Cup players. The Organizing Committee expects more than 600 players from all around the world. Besides the traditional lacrosse countries, brand new European national lacrosse teams like Denmark, Austria, Ireland and the Netherlands will take part in the World Cup for the first time, and even more nations will play in the Prague Cup, for example Bermuda, Switzerland or Slovakia. Lacrosse in Europe is growing very fast as the European Lacrosse Federation has more than 30 members.

The Prague Cup International Tournament 2009 is an accompanying event held in the same sport centre during the World Cup, and there will be another women´s lacrosse tournament - After Cup - straight after the World Cup with more than 200 players participating.

The Women's Prague Cup was born in 1998, when the Czech Republic organized Women's European Lacrosse Championship. Along with the main competition an open tournament for other teams was organized. Teams from England, Scotland, Wales and two Japanese teams participated in the first Women's Prague Cup. Since 1998 the tournament has been played every year with various teams from USA, England, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, Scotland, Wales, and the Czech Republic.
